What does a KarbonZ score mean?

Your score runs from 300 to 900, and higher is better. 300 means you’ve just started; around 500 you’re building habits; 700 and above, you’re among the greener performers. Bills and lower emissions move it up. The KarbonZ score is a performance index defined by KarbonZ. It is not an independent environmental certification.

  • Carbon Starter300 to 399
  • Getting Aware400 to 499
  • Building Habits500 to 599
  • Active Performer600 to 699
  • Green Champion700 to 799
  • Carbon Leader800 to 899

A provisional score uses your answers only; adding bills and a second month establishes it. 900 is reached only through certification. More about the score

Questions individuals ask

How long does the assessment take?

Four short screens: where you live, your home energy, your commute and how often you fly. You can add more detail, and bills, later.

Do I need to upload bills?

No, but bills make your footprint more accurate and move your score from provisional to established. You can log them by hand or link a biller for automatic monthly fetches.

Is it free?

The individual assessment is free. Anyone in India aged 18 or over can sign up with a mobile number.
